thoughts on the BMW HP4

if you've ridden one, or even seen one in person, your impressions would be appreciated (relative to an 1199R).

Hmm......Well lets see then but I think you probably should consider the venue and realise how the answers will be parsed given that....

There's a lot of guys here who own both and will give you an unbiased opinion... Personally the hp4 looks ugly I rather the s1000rr in sapphire black...

ya lol. i find both of them to be the ugliest literbike you can buy, short of a kawasaki or suzuki. i hoping the nice engine and electronics will make me overlook that major shortcoming.

i have not ridden one but if you want my opinion on it here it goes.

1 i would never get the s1000rr i think its butt ugly however something about the hp4 makes it look great. i dont know if its the paint and the colors but i love how it looks.

2 performance is amazing but they are relatively close few will be able to ride either bike to the limits.

3. looks vs the pani = if a pani is not around it looks fantastic. side by side its not even close the pani blows it away.

4. if you add the full exhaust to the 1199r you lose the fan very hard to ride on the street from what i heard but im not an R owner so i dont know about this somebody that has one with the full termi installed can comment on it.

disclaimer i have an 1199s lots of carbon and aftermarket bling and have an hp4 competition on order.
