Do I need to purchase the Ducati EverRed Extended Warranty from the dealer I purchased the bike from? I'd rather get the warranty through the dealer closer to my home.

I bought one last week. It's through Western--the dealer recommended that over Red (which is underwritten by someone else completely who had no idea they even offered warranties on Ducatis when I called). But looks like I paid a premium for it...close to $1200 for two years.

Damn that's a ripoff. Why so much? I also got mine through western but for 5 additional years for $675.

I Ride: One of five current bikes.
Was not asked if I wanted one....

My buying experience was a bit strange. To the topic of this thread, I was not offered an extended warranty nor the tire/wheel package. I actually had to call the dealer the next day and ask about it. It's looking like $1836 for the Platinum 60 month package which includes Tire and Wheel. On the other end, Silver is $1411 for three years and includes Tire and Wheel. I need to read through this thread to see if that is a good deal or not.

Reason for the weirdness: I stopped at the dealer in Orlando on my way back from Boca Raton. I was on the HD Road King and I new I wanted to get through Orlando before rush hour on a Friday in 90 degree heat. Anyway, between finding the VIN for the bike I wanted which was still in the crate, computer problems in getting me the final price, rushing to the bank to get a check, I rushed them along. So much so, again, no one asked me.

Anyway, I will probably get the tire and wheel separate and get the warranty before the factory one expires. For me, I just like the security of a little insurance.

This is what my extended warranty costs would be in CDN bucks, GST mentioned is 5% tax

Hi Mark,

The following are the prices for extended warranty on your Panigale:

2 years: $ 1198.00

3 Years $ 1288.00

4 Years $ 1554.00

5 Years $ 1868.00

+ GST

On the 4 & 5 year you can purchase a GPR for $300.00-$350.00 , this is a feature that allows you

To get full refund of warranty cost if you never end having a claim.

You need one full month of MFG warranty still on the bike to purchase so Nov would be great.

If you were to purchase fairly soon I could get you 10% discount. The warranty will not start until the MFG

Warranty expires. You can only extend one time, just keep that in consideration when deciding.

Please call if you have any questions .

Thanks Mark

I emailed ducati North America on Sunday. I got a call from Italy on Monday morning. I was told " Ducati only offers a two year warranty, there is no extended warranty offered by Ducati. Your Dealer has an option of offering their own extended warranty if they choose too." So I have no option of an extended warranty as I know it. A little sad, but I will have to deal........

Considering everything I have read on the Panigale, I went ahead with a 3 year for $725 this morning on my new 899.

I hope that it doesn't pay off since I would rather be riding the bike than having it in the shop... but it helps me feel better knowing I have it

They offered a tire/wheel for $399 and I am still considering it. I have until the end of the month to decide...

It was pretty interesting to have them sell me an extended warranty one minute and then offer reduced rates for track days the next!
I'm curious as to why you bought the extended warranty on a new bike. Extended warranties can be bought right up until the factory warranty expires. What if you don't keep the bike that long? Why up front the money? Just curious.
