Can you confirm whether there is a map update available for your bike?

I called my dealer this evening and they weren't aware of anything new being available. If there is one that is great, but I'll feel rather silly if I take my bike up to the dealer insisting they plug it in, only to discover there really isn't anything out.

Brad, when was the last time you had your bike at the dealer prior to having the map uploaded?

Nothing new is out. I just talked to dealer. (Although I have a wiring upgrade or some crap to the instrument cluster, needing to be done, according to my VIN). That was prob an older upgrade. I had the one you are referring to done in Nov.

NOLA.

12 Months ago for the mk V dash, and the last (quickshifter) update.

This update I got I think is for the base line operational mapping in stock form.
It clearly changes the throttle operating algorithms, and has an effect on the EBC operation (which could merely be a side benefit and not directly targeted)

Fuelling is clearly altered, because the performance is better all round with a serious improvement in the mid range.
And the bike sounds louder with a more aggressive note/growl to it.

Just go and get it done

thanks for this i will go saturday (stealership is 15 min from me) and see if they have it and report back.

NOLA.
No, trust me it is a new update.
And that wiring update is for the left switch block supplementary wiring loom.
It goes in under the left inside wiring loom cover behind the left side fairing.

The update is the one that WAF was told about a couple of weeks ago.
My dealer tech didn't know about it either, as they hadn't received any email notification like they normally do.

It wasn't until the bike was connected to the DDS that it came up.
This is definitely the one that WAF was hoping for as a panacea to his throttle problems.
But somebody had subsequently debunked it in short order as a Furphy.

To be honest.
I wasn't expecting anything to come out of my enquiry.
But it doesn't hurt to ask

It's a revolutionary change.
And it eclipses anything to date.
The bike is literally transformed

They'll have it alright.
It's on the DDS
So all dealers have access

The bike has to be plugged in first for it to come up as an "open" update.
I'm assuming it's not a product of a campaign at this stage.
It's something they're slipping through(low key) that everyone will ultimately get at their next service.

If I were a conspiracy theorist.
I would say they've been working on it to have in place, for when the earliest shipment of bikes theoretically come due for their first major service in the next couple of months, and or the riding season in the colder parts of the northern hemisphere.

Or it could be as simple, as the racing program has shown the original setup was causing too many unnecessary/costly crashes.
WAF and others have sort of alluded to that as being part of the problem, in the past.
Now they've got it sorted out for the racers.
They're going quicker as a result now, and seemingly much more competitive.
And we can get it, as a click of a button at the dealership as well

I tell you.
This update is confidence inspiring for how quick one can approach a corner, and for what you can do mid corner.
My trip home from the dealer is about 130 Kms.
I've tested it out on a great number of occasions, and under different circumstances

This is making a huge difference to how the bike behaves.
I'm now confidently carrying more speed into corners, than I would've dared to on yesterday morning without worrying about having the throttle/bike settled.
