Have you been there? Last time I was there I saw nothing but a bunch of wankers running around in Uggs eating Red Rooster straight from the carton and washing it down with Foster's oil cans.

If it was any kind of major fuel map upgrade, such as the 41t sprocket map from last year, we would normally get a service bulletin/TSB on that. The way the DDS works now there's not any kind of "lookup" to see what fuel map is in what bike, it's an automatic function that will update anything in the ECU to the latest version that has been downloaded into our DDS at the time the bike is plugged in. So there's really no point in asking your service department if there is a new map that is available for your bike, we would never know the answer to that question, all we can do is plug your bike in and update the ECU to the latest software, which may or may not contain an updated fuel map. This is a very tightly controlled process done out of Italy, we simply don't know what's coming in those updates, we get them and bikes are updated as part of the routine service process when they come in.

That sounds all true and correct.

Except the first and second sentences

Let me clarify.
It's not an "Up-Map" It's actually "one single Update". (as it was described to me)

And I don't think there has been any notification/bulletins sent out specifically about it. It seems to be slipped under the table.

Except someone in the know at NFI knew all about it, and subsequently told WAF. Who in turn dutifully informed us all here of the possibility of it's existence
Thanks again WAF
That's what prompted me to enquire while I was at the dealership.
And the dealer tech had no specific knowledge of it, until he very kindly indulged me, and the bike was actually connected to the DDS out of curiosity on both our parts.

So it follows in accordance with your statement about receiving updates all the time. You don't necessarily know what it's for. Or for that matter what model of bike (that's just the way the system works)
They're just downloaded (if available) in the morning when the computer is turned on. Ready for when the bikes are connected, and communication is established.

In terms of scale of the update.
It wasn't minor.
I believe it was covered sufficiently, when I said it took longer to do than any others I've had before it. Approximately 10-15 minutes(although I didn't bother to time it).
I've had all of them done to date(except the 41 tooth sprocket update), and have been present while each and every one was done.

I will also note, this was the very first update I've had that didn't require the ignition to be turned off/on occasionally when prompted by the computer like previous updates.

In summary.
It's made a significant change to the bike.
Which eclipses the gains of any and all previous updates combined by a big margin.
I describe it as revolutionary, and stand by that statement.

So you lot, just keep your grubby proletariat hands off my beers (and the Bourbon)

If you get the update, and can't tell the difference.
Then no problem for me
Obviously, it's like feeding caviar to swine

I'll have you know I don't represent that.

I'm a vego. So I don't eat that Red Rooster shit.
Gave up wearing uggies about 30 years ago.(about the same time I gave up eating that Red Rooster shit)
I think I also gave up on drinking that Fosters shit around then as well

And these days, I only wash my food down with a cup of organic green tea

You savages

It should be world wide. I'm assuming so.
But then again the USA has been known to get the shitty end of the stick before.
After all your the only country in the world that has the world series. But nobody else in the world shows up
How does that work

I suppose it follows, that if you lot over there paid full price for your bikes.
Then you could reasonably expect to get the full package, without missing bits

Perhaps you should tip DNA better when you take delivery.
Then you could expect better service
