New Recall - Dash fix

Just saw this so I thought I'd post it, although I'm sure we'll all be getting our notices in the mail soon. Looks like Ducati is finally and officially addressing the old dash, signal, horn issue.

Ducati Issues New Recalls For 1199 Panigale Motorcycle.com News
From what I gather they'd been dealing with the switch issue on a case-by-case basis. I had my dealer order the part as my switches started acting up. They called to say the part came in but that it was now covered by the NTSB as a mandatory recall. Long story short, they couldn't ship me the $7 part, they had to install it.

This was a week and a half ago.

That's good news

It's a lot better than just having it done on a case by case basis if the customer has an issue.
It's the same recall campaign we've had going here in OZ since about February/March this year.
I was at the dealer getting this recall issue done when they did the latest update.

I've been surprised they didn't instigate it at the same time on a world wide basis.

Maybe they couldn't supply the units in large enough quantities to perform this recall simultaneously world wide?

When I asked Frasers Sydney if they had any issues with this and they said very quickly (almost too quickly) No lol - lying sods. Unfortunately my bike is in storage and will be for the next 6-12months so my warranty will be void anyway if it does become an issue

Although I have a "R" Dec 13 so might not be an issue ....wil just have to wait and see .........................

Sadly, It's the standard answer everywhere unless one has a very good/trusting relationship with the dealer.

Remember Frasers are the importers
I honestly don't think they have the luxury of any other responses available to them. Commercial realities and all that

It's just as much a product of the modern world which has produced the worst crop of politicians this country has EVER seen.
It's quite possible it will get worse on all levels.

The nature of the technology behind Tesla cars, and their business model may well change that

I saw the fog first time last week, 3500kms done, is it an issue? After an hour it is gone.
I am from EU-belgium, i haven't received a letter.
