Metal gears for the water pump drive?

So, we had a bit of a brake down (AGAIN!) this weekend, and now it's back to the workshop once again to try to get the bike back together in time for the upcoming Swedish PRO SBK champs this weekend. It doesn't look too good, but we'll work hard to make it... Fingers crossed

Anyways... Yesterday we started to pull the bike apart, beginning with the clutch side crank case cover, and guess what.. The plastic gears for the water pump was scrapped (AGAIN!). We replaced them like a month ago, and now they are shot again... I found some pics somewhere on the internet (can't remember where) of a guy rebuilding his SL engine, and one of the mods was metal drive gears for the waterpump. Does anybody know where to buy these? I'e been looking all over...

Cheers

Looks very simply gear.. Just give old plastic one some machinery shop, and they make new for you..(maybe in aluminium?)

It is the project SL 1201 KOEN on ducatiforum.co.uk that has a picture of the plastic gear being replaced with a metal version - you can try contacting him in regards to where he got the gear

Actually it would be interesting to hear if it was a one-off piece for the project or if it is available for others and at what cost - so it would be appreciated if you could comment when you have gotten some more information

Wj=hile talking to steve about 10minutes ago, he can't understand why this has happened because even they use the plastic gears in there engines and never ever had a problem with them.

So,
I asked him for you how much for the corse metal waterpump gears ( 2 of) and he said from memory, around 600GBP, Didn't ask if that include 20% UK Vat or not as thought your not all going to be rushing out to buy them at that price (lol)

The only reason they fitting them to the guys 1199SL project bikes engine is because the bikes owner wanted to have his engine same spec as the WSBK ones.
The bikes owner even had them remove the 2 ring SL pistons and fit the single ring WSBK pistons to his new 1199 SL Engine.
