Need help. ABS! Warning light

Went to go for a ride today and the bike won't start. It comes on, but the bid red box appears and says ABS!. It won't allow the bike to start. I checked the connections and everything seems fine. Bike rode great yesterday. Any ideas??

Did you check your fuse panel?

No idea on what might be causing it, a friend had a problem on a Multi a while back (stone damage to one of the discs I think), anyway turning the ABS off allowed him to start the bike & ride home.

I did and oddly enough, the ABS fuses are fine, but in the left fuse box, #3 called "Key-sense" is blown. It is a 10 amp fuse, so I replaced with the spare and as soon as the key turned it blew again. Now I am even more confused...

If it blew when you put a new one in, you may have a ground fault somewhere. Start following wires and you should be able to find the culprit. Have you installed anything new on your bike or did any kind of work recently?

Do you have any electronic upgrades on your bike? Rapid bike? Power commander? Etc?

I'd start tracing wires and go from there, if you see any obvious signs of wear or tearing or heat damage--that may be your problem....you could also check your grounds. I had nearly the same thing happen to me and it ended up being a bolt pinching a wire in the RB module(my fault completely and it ran absolutely fine for a few months). Was riding the bike, big surge, pop and the abs light come on and the check engine light was on....turned out to be a pinched wire, cost me $300 in labor and a bruised ego. I hope you can get it figured out
Thanks from Gecko and cosmok

Found it. Pinched wire on the oil exchanger mounting bolt. Repaired the wire and good to go. Thanks for all the advice!
