Is DOT 5.1 brake fluid bad for paint?

So it seems the lid to my front brake reservoir wont seal tight enough even after screwing it tight and when it gets bumpy or if the front wheel comes up suddenly i get some small drops of fluid here and there. I make sure to wipe it up right away but should i just want to make sure that it wont harm my paint while i try to figure out what the issue is. Thanks in advance

Warm soapy water to remove. The stuff is like alien blood. It will even discolour something that's been anodised!

The clutch master on my 899 began to leak without me knowing it and I didn't notice until I went to take it out of gear and there was no pull in the lever and subsequently, no fluid in the reservoir.

I had the dealer come and pick up the bike as it was 2 months within warranty.

They had originally thought that it was the slave until they discovered that it had drizzled down across the thin piece of the front fairing, down the left side upper, and over the lower to the floor.

Of course, DNA agreed to replace the clutch master, however it took my dealer some substantial arguing back and forth before they wound up agreeing to replace all three fairing pieces, including the decals and TechSpec grips.

ALL brake fluid is corrosive to painted surfaces, not just DOT 5.1

also bad for the windscreen, it made little cracks on my prev GSXR.

you have an oem reservoire ?

happend to me with the "old"/standard Rizoma reservoires on 3 bikes (and 3 diff reservoires of the same model)

when Rizomas NEXT series came out I bought it and its perfect! no problems.
