Suspension setup

I've always wondered how other people set up their suspension for street riding so I figured why not start a thread. I'm 5'11 and weigh 160lbs the roads in SF and surrounding cities are fairly bumpy so I've been thinking of loosening my suspension up a bit. Tell me what you think and post yours while you're at it.

I Ride: Aprilia RSV4 APRC and Panigale 1199s
I've read some members have switched their rear suspension from flat to progressive and had better experiences on bumpy roads

I would highly suggest to reach out to Dave Moss. Since you live in Bay Area, probably the best money you would ever spend.

I had him do mine: 185lbs 6'0"

Race 12 12 14 16 1 3 1
Sport 16 16 25 16 2 5 1

Please no mas.... no mas..... Here are dozens of pages already devoted to the false science of setting up suspension on the interwebs:

Let's start a sticky for suspension settings and handling discussions.

Guy does clinics/setups in the bay area at the tracks most every weekend, plus cyclegear in Sacramento now and then.

Your roads are like mine and I have mine dialed in so I don't need Dave, but if I had to ask, I would let him do the whole thing for a rock solid baseline.

from the link you provided and OP talking about Dave

It's all he does; it's his full time job and he travels the World doing it. He was recently in Australia, New Zealand... He has flown to Qatar and Abu Dhabi for a weekend to do setup for the local racers out there, who have no-one locally with Dave's kind of knowledge.

He's very responsive, knows more about this stuff than anyone I have met and he's generally correct about what's going on with your bike, in most cases.

He also races and has been class champion in AFM for a few years; he really lives and breathes this stuff; basically, he's a damn Wizard.

Cheers.

Since you live in SF check his classes at MotoGuild on Tressure Island. Should be pretty easy for you get there and you can talk to him in advance and get your bike setup.
