I had 4 Arai Corsair in a row and I want to move to a better way to remove the shield, Arai suchs badly. I tried Shoei X12 and doesn't fit my head. Not sure about Schubert RS1, seems a great helmet but this Bell looks at the same level just $300 cheaper.

Best helmet i've owned, incredible air movement, light , great features. Tops all my Arais. Bell is back.

I've got 3 bell helmets now. Great fit, good value and the carbon ones are very light. The way the visor change setup works is the best I've ever used.

I've tried others, Arai, Shoei and Scorpion and none of them were as easy to change the visor.

Also the transitions visor they have is my go to pick for street riding. No more worrying about picking something too dark for riding home at the end of a long day.

i have had many top of the line arai helmets

Suomy by far is a better helmet for me and at half the price of arai. My bell star carbon runs a close second followed by my bell rs1. the rs1 compeates with the shoei rf1100 and is a better helmet imo. those guys over at arai have great marketers but their Styrofoam isn't any better then the Styrofoam at dunkin dounuts that i get my coffee. i got my bell star black beauty for 330 and my suomy spec 1 r for 475 thats 805 plus the 330 for my rs1 = 1135. or i could have got 1 corsair v which i have had for 800 and no better protection. oh and the shields are also 100 plus each on arai.

schubert no experience with

bell star (not carbon) - leightweight, very well ventilated, loud (wind noise), not too god field of vision, comfortable, have problems looking over the shoulder, helmet tends to get stuck on leathers.

comparison: Schuberth S2, has thicker pads on bottom, but allows more shoulder view.
better vision, silent.

both fit perfect, the S2 is hard to get in and out.

Just took delivery of the matte carbon last week with the auto tint shield. Sweet looking and comfy, though I haven't ridden with it yet so I can't speak to noise levels etc. Nice touch from bell with quality bag it comes with.
