Sprocket & chain kit

So has anyone here had the sprocket & chain kit upgrade done? I have ordered mine they said it will mainly benefit track riding, it has 2 teeth more on the rear and will cost about $300. What's the verdict, worth it? Oh it comes with a map to suit the change.

Hot?

Only if the engine is running

Just kidding... Yes it gets hot but nothing for me to worry about, no worse than my other Ducati's or other sport bikes. I am fine with it.

The sprocket change is an upgrade that is not a recall, but an option if you want it, it came because it the realease of the R so Ducati is offering this for the non R bikes.

I have tried two local dealers here in the UK and neither have the chain or sprocket kit in yet. I will do it once one of them gets the stuff in though.

To the forum police... Lighten up Francis. Yes, redundancy is a bit annoying. But take note how those threads often get off track and how little has actually been mentioned from those who have done it. I think it's nice sometimes to reboot a thread and get back to a specific question, such as is it worth it? Is it simply a benefit for the track? Reading through pages of gearing talk, different brands of sprockets and all of that is a bit cumbersome (indeed, many of them get very off track and very large, making them appropriate to go to the thread graveyard and allow a new, younger, faster, stonger thread to emerge), and of course the 20% of the conversation mocking those who repeat questions. So I for one appreciate a renewal of a poignant question. Not always, but here I’d love to hear specific experienced response from those who make the change. Now the heat.....ok, that horse is dead. Agreed.
