You don't have to use them, there is an option, I have it installed this way!

Ahhh, I gotcha. Yes, you can turn nudge buttons off in the options menu. Sorry, wasn't clear that is what you meant.

well, first attempt did not work, but I am also Windows illiterate. Have yet to find the point where I can log in my password. There's a local tuner that is very familiar with the Tuneboy platform; I'm just going to hire him. I'll need him to fine tune the mapping anyways on a dyno.

Ok, now that the 1299 system is on my bike and my son is born and I'm off the next three weeks I will look into the app and look forward to checking the cool
Futures out!

Update from me,
I just got the new 1299 + full Akro Tuneboy map from Wayne today (not the Boulder map)
And it is night and day, this is how the bike should be.

I have LC2 wide sensors installed on the stock bungs,
But to be honest if you just use the above map, you won't need them.
I don't think I need to tune it further or add a trim file its that good, well chuffed and recommend it.

In the mid range, there is no lag or low areas just arm ripping pull right through the rpm range,
It's astonishing and really scares the shit out of me now.

question about the different throttle mappings - by pressing the menu up button, can you toggle through the three? or do you have to preset it in TuneEdit?

well, my Windows skills are sorely lacking. My tuner had no problems flashing the ECU. And now the custom mapping begins....

Yes, toggle through the three,
once the ECU is flashed, with ignition on only, no engine running you can toggle-full throttle + menu up.

custom map isn't finished, but the 1299 features are flashed in. and here's what I've got to say about that:
- the three throttle map options are awesome. having 100% in the first 3 gears really ramps up the aggressiveness of this bike.
- I LOVE ELECTRONIC CRUISE CONTROL. It's part of what BMW does right - all those little conveniences a button away. Unless your bike is 100% track-only, there are tons of opportunities to use the cruise control, even for just a minute. And it really lets you rest and adds to the overall comfort level of riding the bike.

The learning curve for Tuneboy is steep for the Microsoft-challenged. I used to map Nissan Skylines, so I'm no stranger to using mapping software. But getting all that stuff working - I STILL can't get past this "XML file something failed!!!!!" when using the program to recognize the com unit, and FlashMitsubishi (on my computer) thinks my ECU is incompatible. But with the fortune to have a local tuner who is very familiar with Tuneboy software and $500 for his services, I'm up and running.
Thanks from Whoopazz and Steveo

So what were the final numbers after the tuner dialed it in?
