Ducati Wheelie Control

Hi Fellow Ducati Owners,

I ride a Ducati 1299 in sports mode with the default settings. If I was to turn the wheelie control setting down to say a 2 would this bring the front wheel up gracefully using the throttle?

I should seen a video of an 1198 pop the wheel up so easy at what looked like quite low speeds. The front doesn't lift a lot but enough to notice.

I would like to get the front up using the throttle rather than using the clutch.

Cheers
Chris

No.

Sounds like you need a little more experience before you perform a nice calm and graceful wheelie on a 200 bhp motorcyle just by tweaking a few settings

Yes I can ride the rear brake and short shift , but that abrupt power delivery is another issue to deal with in a stop start scenario.

The DWC doesn't seem to work that well ????? Maybe my settings aren't quite right .

Tried adjusting the settings in your right hand? You know it's variable right? Not an on/off switch!!

Thanks from Glenn

I just leave the DWC turned off to be honest. Same with the DTC.

Probably going to get shot down for this but I reckon they're all bullshit. All they do is cut the power down. I'd rather have it there and just use my wrist to control things.

Got my doubts about DWC , but TC can prove invaluable. Shit you have a tool on your bike that you can tune to get more drive earlier on exit and safer ., or dont you track / race ? Couldnt give damn on the road .

Well I turned my DWC off the other day,
I gave it a fair twist of the throttle,(not a sudden abrupt throttle), and for a split second it speed up and then got the intervention lights come on the dash and it jumped out of gear into neutral!
Was that another safety net I'm not aware of???

Either the gear was not properly engaged or you hit gearlever with your boot. I have not used DWC at all any more. I think it is better on both, street and track. Once I got used to it, it is very controllable.
