I hope so! I pick mine up Thursday.

Are they still making the 1199 Panigale R next year being that it will be raced in WSBK? I was thinking of picking one up next year if I'm not happy with the V4.

No official dealers have them in the UK yet. Rather than get a deal, here you're going to have to pay more to get one this year. You can order one for 35k but won't arrive until Feb / March. I've got a couple of months off work over Sep / Oct so paid up (almost 37K) through a bike dealer to get one earlier. Loving it though and def worth the extra couple of K for me. Done 1000 miles and been on track for a couple of days too.

I'd imagine will be a year before see any being sold on otherwise.

Because paying MSRP for things is dumb, unless it is really unique. "Progressively numbered, but not limited in quantity," that quote is from the ducati website. I paid ~$2000 less than MSRP for my new 13' R bought in July of 13' out the door (less TAX TAG and title). I would have still bought it at MSRP but I did a little calling and got a deal, and had money left for new gear. Nothing wrong with that.

Nope, can't get them new anymore, Euro4 put an end to them. The R's will be like rocking horse shit too

Comparing your upgraded "S" model with a REAL R model isn't the same thing. That aside, this is the last of the L-Twins. Getting a deal on these will be much more difficult than your 13R.

He can try, I have a feeling this bike will be harder to get. I have heard numerous reps and dealers say that they have been told they will only get the bikes that will be going to customers and that they won't have many floating around. It is going to be a limited bike, probably won't be many made and the timeline on when you will get one will probably deter people away. Where I live the dealer has 3 deposits, mine was the first to show and they still haven't been given word when the others will.

LoL....... I know right! Should just bite the bullet and get the SL. How embarrassing at the track having a SL, and getting lapped by a clapped out old beater.

Been looking at 14 SL's. about the same money as a FE, but I think a FE is a much more advanced bike. Just not the swing factor. And the fact getting it brandnew with a full warranty is VERY attractive.

For those that have been told the FE is difficult to acquire must not live in So-Cal. Here you can buy as many as you want within a few hours drive. Not an abundance of people throwing down 40+k for a new bike. Even more so with the controversial color scheme on the FE.

Agree 100% ! These not really being a limited production build, once the initial demand fades from the select few that have been waiting to pick up their FE's. There's going to be standing inventory on these.
Getting quoted about 2k off at this point.
