Check these out. I thought it was a good read. Cool that they did it at my home track and I got to see some of it during a track day. Jensen was great to chat with and he held me in suspense until the article came out. It was also cool to know two of the local and talented test riders and interesting to hear their thoughts.

So the 1299 S lost to the Aprilia?

I thought the comparison between the Aprillia and Ducati was pretty good for the two bikes they were comparing. Problem is the Pani wasn't stock with the Termi exhaust. So throttle response which was the biggest complaint is dependent on the tune. But as we've seen in this forum ducati is all over the place on throttle smoothness with the Pani.

Yep, that's what they said.

Agreed, but Ducati wouldn't provide a stock bike so that's what they got. Could it be the slop in the throttle like the 1199 had? Not sure if the 1299 is the same.

Seemed like a fair assessment of both and not a huge margin of victory. As with any comparison it's subjective and up to interpretation and opinion of the group riding the bikes.

When I bought my my RSV4 I was easy to get comfortable with it day one. Very forgiving, great handling, smooth power delivery.

Nothing new here.

OK to admit the Pani is not the best bike on the market. Spoiler alert: it's not.

True, nothing new but a little different approach from what I've seen on normal superbike shoot outs with one on one elimination.

I ride it because I like the way it tickles my balls and makes me feel inside. Owning this thing is an emotional decision, not a rational one.

Pani's (especially the 1299) are a PITA to work on, it's hard to ride fast, it's expensive to purchase, maintain, upgrade, or repair, and it's a show off bike.

All cons I live with because of the way the exhaust pops when I grab fourth gear between T8B and T9 at The Ridge. Nothing else matters.

All good points, and the best point that matters most is ride what tickles your balls. The Panigale is the most beaten bike out there, hands down.
