Who votes?
I mean, yeah it's cool that the Monster did win but to be serious something is not right there. The bike is nothing special and I am sure there were other great looking bikes that are more interesting.

I spoke to a friend from Europe who is big in the aftermarket parts section and who does supply manufacturers so he is not just some little parts shop, he said the bike looks " cheap".

A couple more pictures:

The S4R/S was certainly beautiful, but I think the new design looks outstanding as well. Having a metal tank is certainly a nice feature.

Never been a real fan of the Monsters. If I wanted a naked bike, I'd look elsewhere (like a Triumph Speed Triple R).

It beat out the new mv sport tourer. Don't really get it, it's still basically unchanged since the first year. While I like the monster concept, for it to win best in show just a bit puzzling.

Sorry, but I don't see much of a difference. And was the 1199 there? Way better looking than the monster! Hell, the Multi is better looking than that! Even the S1K is better looking! What were these judges smoking?

I'd have voted for it. Look at how the header curls magnificently away from any part of the rider's fragile heat sensitive skin! Also, no fairings to melt!

This is a matter of taste and I would like to respectfully disagree.

There's something raw about the S4RS that makes the nakedness attractive. The new Monster looks a like a photoshopped Model.

I'm looking forward to the Monster 1200 S vs Speed Triple R vs 1290 Superduke R shootout
