I Ride: 1299R FE and a Pikes Peak
Couldn't agree more. Once I had the exhaust on the 1200R i did a few other little bits. Really all I want is the quickshifter and the bike is about perfect. If I could get it with an auto blip that's the icing on the cake.

Riding it in the snow, eh? Mount Rainier in the background? What were you wearing for this cold?

I Ride: '14 899 Panigale Red
Considering going from Panigale 899 to Monster 1200R so going to test ride this soon...

I find myself loving track days more and more. So a few questions. Does the Monster R live up to the "R" badge on the track? Is it really the "one bike that can do it all"? Is the "R" worth the premium over the "S"?

My other idea is the Tuono V4 1100 which is just a race bike with less fairings and handlebars. It's no doubt faster on the track (and subjectively prettier than the Monster in my opinion). The Monster seems more comfortable for two up riding (Corbin Seat w/ Lady backrest) and the maintenance intervals (12400mi vs 18000mi) are hands down friendlier as well. They are priced around the same.

Well, the R is fun on the track, it's no panigale but it's still a riot. Really if you're looking at a naked bike ride them all and make your decision. Personally I love the 1200R and went that route, the tuono is an awesome machine also, you can't go wrong with either

My next Monster when/if it comes with a quick shifter. I'll take it in black; especially if it comes with a red frame.

I picked up the 1200R in black not to long ago. put on the much needed exhaust and some other things. Just wished they did had the up/down quick shift but I'm sure they will come out with one.
took it to the track and boy what fun it is. For sure its a fun bike to ride around.

I just added the Termi slip ons, the Rapid Bike module, MWR air filter and the Rapid Bike quick shifter to my 1200R. It rocks. However, the quick shifter (RapidBike module) needs to be fine tuned on my 1200R. I'm up in Hiawassee, Ga right now and not completely happy with my quick shifter. When I'm in a higher gear, and probably over 5k rpm, the shifter works fine. However, when I'm at lower RPM's in a lower gear, the quick shifter is clunky (i.e.- causes the 1200R to lurch). I absolutely love my 1200R, but you would think for the price we would get an OEM quick shifter like the 1299S. By the way, the Termi cans sound awesome. Awesome, awesome, awesome! Enjoy your bike. Peace.
Thanks from Prince Albert
