That was the issue - not the ones that were already posted, but to go out and search and fine ones that had not been and snap a picture w/o the owners knowledge or consent. While its certainly not illegal (there are some private property concerns as well as if it somehow goes to commercial usage issues) - I classify this under the "not cool" and no common courtesy. . I have zero issues with the bike shot or posted. I just don't think it should go as far as the triple tree number as I have known some previous owners of certain numbered bikes that opposed people taking shots of their triple tree.
So I assume those owners covered up their "secret" number when they had the bike in public? Not ripping you, I just don't understand how they could possibly have an issue?

An SL is a tiny speck in the universe.
The SL doesn't follow the same numbering scheme as previous "R" models, but if you had the triple tree, you essentially had the VIN in previous R models. They were predictably numbered that way. . on the SL Ducati does not appear to be actually producing in numbered order, but based on country of delivery, by batch and by deposit. . . So the US will get 2 or maybe 3 batches, and their numbers are going to be by deposit date and not by the actual production date.

Just as in some people prefer their license plates not to be published, some hide the VIN'S as well. .

Look, if you feel any obligation to ask whether you can take a picture while the owner is there, then that means there is or should be some courtesy extended on that front.. Otherwise, doesn't matter if the owner is there or not, right - just snap away without asking him/her and ask that they get out of your way so you can get your pictures.

Mine has officially arrived at FBF. I am #218 and won't be picking her up until Saturday (ohhh the wait will kill me....)

This poor excuse for an image is all I have to go on (from the dealer) until I get down there.
Thanks from zaster, iceman, CaliDuc and 1 others
