Be that as it may...it's too orange for my liking

A very special number for the 1199 Superleggera from France, Annecy, near Geneva. May be, as special as the number #1 or #500.

The Ducati dealer said to me, "it's still on sale".

It's the number 199/500.

So, if you're looking for a 1199 Superleggera with a very particular number for your motorbike's collection, it's time to buy it.

For more informations, you can look their web site : www.ducatiannecy.fr

just me, but I seriously doubt you can put 199 on the same level as #1 or #500. . Perhaps if it had gone up over 1199 and you had 1199, but a sub part of that number having the same value as more symbolic numbers - in my opinion, doubtful. But then again, maybe the french are just different.

If örange" is not orange and "red" not red on reproduction there is something wrong with your reproductory equipment.

apparently its wrong with just about everybody's equipment (but in reality its because no one generally has color corrected video monitors) - because the reality is that almost no one knows (and that includes Ducati enthusiasts on this board) that the SuperLeggera colors is the EXACT SAME as the Ducati MotoGP bike colors unless you have been up close to see the actual Ducati race bikes.. . . And yet they think the SL is a "different color" because what they see on TV looks like a bright Ducati Red. . . Those /ARE/ the Ducati race bike colors.
Thanks from Phl

#1's not overly special and there is no #500 - they're numbered 0-499.
Thanks from Phl, BigBoost and Jello

I can just see that argument now:

"No, really! This #499 IS the last one they made!!!"

This really doesn't make sense. Shouldn't the triple say /499, then?

Lol. Ducati's racing red comes out orange on most people's monitors (or photographs) except for those with the secret Ducati equipment that turns it into red.
In case you have not noticed this is a "Ducati" forum and contrary to popular believe most Ducatisti are passionate and knowledgeable about motorcycles in general and Ducati motorcycles specifically.
It is common knowledge that Ducati's Moto GP bikes (and among others the SL) are orange, but Ducati calls it red.
