Sorry to bump such a old thread, but I got the same info. I have not had any oil issues/consumption on my SL.

Although, I broke in my SL hard on the track and have not had to add any oil since the 620 mile change....

Close to 1,000 miles now, no issues or noticeable oil consumption.

Versus my 2012 Tri, that thing ate oil like a pig. I was always adding oil to that thing, but I did NOT break it in on the track like my SL.

Mine is consuming a lot of oil. I had to put 12 fluid ounces (about 350 ml.) in the first 100 miles. I had to add more at 300 miles. Dealer says, "it's normal." We will see about that!

Torture her now! You've been too kind to this engine. (I am not kidding)
If oil consumption doesn't go down, make it a warranty case.

I was told from the start to watch the oil on the 2015 R. Used a lot at first, like a litre in 1000 miles but has got better. No obvious smoking though so I just keep an eye on it.........

Some of my older ducatis used to pump out smoke for at least the first 2000 miles or so........... still bedding in?

Mine has used a little over 1 ltr and is now at 2700 miles.. I think that's okay. I check it once a week.

2015R - mine would push oil out of the crankcase into the air box - Ducati replaced cylinder sleeves, pistons & rings....and my shop told me to let the oil level remain "low" as opposed to always topped off....while that seemed to work early on after the parts swap, the issue has reemerged and even with a low level in the oil window, oil is still getting pushed into the air box again.....shop will look at it again soon

Yea, I don't know about this engine. Not impressed. Had the pistons and sleeves replaced. Now having to have entire engine rebuilt. Hopefully better than what Ducati built.

Stupid question: if you guys say 1l oil consumption, do you mean that by 1000 miles or km?
