I rode the 1098R once. Savage power.

No denying the Panigale is an infinitely more agile platform though...

less horsepower delivered poorly and the worst handling bike of that production year among similar displacement superbikes.

anyone that compares the 1*98's handling to a pani and thinks they are similar should really not be riding superbikes....

I Ride: 2014 panigale 1199
I had a 848
I thought it was nimble but I agree the panigale is way way better
I also have zero clue how I put this on the Sl forum May have had to much to drink who knows

I guess the point was to question the balance of Ducati identity over progress and innovation, I know the panigale is the quint essential of Ducati innovation but occasionally I miss some of the old quirks of previous Ducati superbikes.

And yes I know why the bike was made the way it was to win world championships go faster than the competition

Historically the first Ducati superbikes had wet clutches . I think the dry clutch was just a glitch a little bit like pop up headlights in a car .

Maybe not until 1986 was the first dry clutch in a production Ducati which was a pantah motor in the later F1 bike .

After they went to Pantahs. All bevel drives were wet clutch.
