I have never claimed to be the smartest man alive, but that is dumb as fuck and makes no sense whatsoever.

They take something that is designed for the track, completely change it to make it better on the street, then install top-of-the-line racing suspension while doing so?
Yep
Bling, regardless of any aesthetics or function.

looks like a complete "because we can" - job to me

they have the same setup on a base

IMHO it's destined to serve the potential customers who miss having a real streetfighter from ducati. plenty out there

This is definitely a "because we can" bike. Who cares if they ruined a race bike. I'm sure anyone who owns an SL and isn't using it for its intended purpose is considered to be a ruined race bike. I actually think it looks pretty good. $185k good? Not even close. Maybe $50k tops because of the SL motor and wsbk forks. Sure there's a lot into the custom parts, moto corse pipes n wheels but nope. If anything, I woulda started with an R platform n called it a day n save a lot in the process.

Still pretty cool lookin regardless.

This make me sad.... It's your bike and you should do what you want, but still.....

You could do this to a 2015 R and get close to the same result.
