Exclamation SL Recall CR122

Hello gents

For those of you who didn't get informed, there's a new recall for the SL.

Info from Ducati:
Recall Campaign - CR122
Start date: 2016-06-09
Refresh date: 2016-06-14

SUPERBIKE 1199 PANIGALE SL FLUO RED AND WHITE 2014 EUR DMH

The damper plate assembled between the primary driven gear assembly can become displaced and can cause engine stoppage, increasing the risk of injury to the rider.

From another source:
If the defect occurs, and the damper plate fails, part of the damper plate assembly can become displaced and can cause engine stoppage, increasing the risk of injury to the rider.
An official Ducati dealer will replace the clutch assembly with a new redesign component supplied by Ducati free of charge.

Complete clutch unit, oil and oil filter will be changed free of charge.

I don't know whether non-EU bikes are also affected, but you can check online on Ducati Recall Campaigns
Thanks from BigBoost, Thamer, b9009b and 1 others

Yes I think this recall came about as a result of an engine locking up on one of our local riders here in Texas.

Spat him off at about 85mph resulting in a broken collar bone and obvious cosmetic and mechanical damage to the bike.

I believe Ducati is stepping up to the plate and taking care of all expenses.

that's a tough crash to take, when I see crashes like that I think I should just buy a D Air suit as it will probably save you $20k in surgery bills.

Someone from Dallas? Didn't see or hear anything re: this through the garage...

Thumbs up

Just had my complete clutch unit changed due to this recall as part of my annual service by Moto Rapido (Winchester, UK). This is now the 2nd one they have done.

Thanks for the heads-up!

That sure looked like a mechanical failure, Ive had those sudden lockups back in the TZ days
