DP tail bag usage

So I recently started riding with the DP tail bag. And after a week of use, the paint on the tail section is getting some rub marks.
DP and their lack of R&D in their luggage decided to put a faux leather material on the bottom of the bag. This material along with the soft paint do not mix well.

Has anyone figured out how to use this bag without leaving scratches?

I Ride: 2014 Panigale R (sold)
best method would be to use a clear 3M film over area you want to protect.

i believe they have tail kit here, or you can email them to ask for it or just buy a non pre-cut sheet:

I am going to start using a rubber padding - not sure what to call it. I bought it from Aerostitch, but I think it's the same stuff you can buy from Lowes for putting on tool boxes (see link below). The other thing I have been doing is putting it over my passenger seat, not the cowl. It does not move around as much on the seat.
