Just to be sure: in this thread http://ducati1199.com/ducati-1199/33...on-s-base.html, eddiegrosu1 is talking about resistors, but I was thinking resistors are not necessary... Did you use them??

Took me about 4 hours but I tested n did some stuff before putting it all together. If I had to do it all over again, I could probably knock it out in 2 hours, maybe less.

Sorry to bring back an old thread. To anyone who may have done this swap, did you use a 1199S air conveyor or just used/modified your 1199 part?

To be clear, I'm asking about the black plastic piece which directs air and is mounted under the headlight.

You need it from an S model. I purchased the headlight with that piece.

Download the parts manual from Ducati. Its item number 10 in the drawing that shows the headlight.

They are different part numbers in the 1199 and 1199S parts manuals.

To add to what doubl0 said, you can actually remove all of the relays as well. When I did mine, I cut all the way past the base headlight relays since they are no longer needed. It makes it much easier to put back together.

There are a bunch of ground wires that end up not being needed at that point. I rode it for a few thousand miles without problems before turning it into a race bike.
