It appears contamination in the oil from clutch debris and a pressure relief valve calibrated too low allowing micro particles to enter the main oil gallery may have been most of the problem.
Blue Guy, I've been running the Scotts stainless filter on my 899 for 14,000 miles. I've only been on track once, however. Bike is mainly run in the twisties and on the highway hard (2nd gear to top of 6th repeatedly).

I've had no issues with it, the debris I see on the magnetic drain plug is the same (if not a little less) as with the Ducati oil filter. I just pull it, drain it, wash it with dish soap and water, then dunk it in a jar of kerosene and shake it around... then shake it dry and blow it with an air nozzle inside-out, air dry for a bit, then reinstall with 20W-50 Amsoil. Bike runs great for having 67,000 miles and burns no oil whatsoever

Hope that helps!

I Ride: F01, F02, 998RS 748R, 996R, 998R,
you got zero problem

check that the particles are thermo softening or hardening

they are flat and so not part of bearing shields or bearing cages

the prefilter screen on the oil pump is , designed to stop hard particles going through the oil pump and damaging it? so it is impossible for the these particles to ever block anything up, (because they cant get through the oil filter) and to do so would have to get through the oilfilter (5-10 micron nominal guess?) if the plastic can get through that its like a fine paste, and plastic has never damaged any metal engine component that I can remember
Iif they melt with the application of heat they are not part of the engine

Plastic is close to floating in oil and will get transported by oil-flow?
but they never been damaged, didnt get chewed up?

Are these items oil and heat stained?
if they clean readily haven been in engine long

Personally I would think they were introduced during an oil change or were present in the drain tray prior to draining you oil

I think you got nothing to worry about, let alone cause you to mistrust your bike
