My Tecnomotor diagnostic tool definitely resets the maintenance message. Also, Ducati cannot dictate, in the US, that a dealer do the service as an adjunct to the warranty.

I'll post up a DIY when I get there.....which will be a while since my bike is at 4k miles after a year of use. I do have the manual and most of the required tools, though I'll have to acquire a 6mm valve collet tool for the intakes if any of them need adjustment. EMS have made one for about two years, now.
Thanks from Duck41

Hopefully in the next few years as more of us reach the 15k mark, we'll get some testimonials about the valves staying in spec. That might help some push the service off a little given the high cost.

Can you tell us what tecnomotor system you are using and how to do the reset before you get to the 15k service? I am very interested in finding a way to avoid the crazy prices these dealers are charging by doing all the work myself.

Not familiar with either one of those systems. Can you elaborate in another thread or send me a PM? I am very interested in getting away from the dealer service.

Looks like Desmo Time VDST isn't going to be available for the Panigale anytime soon. I know he is back from his deployment but have not heard anything about him working on the system.

I believe Cloner is talking about the Socio 390. It's very user friendly but it does not do everything like the DDS.

I got rid of my oil service light a couple days ago after I changed the oil for my 7,500 service. I have a scanner/software that allows me to do so, and also has the option to delete the 15,000 light and read/delete check engine lights and a couple more features like reset throttle and other stuff

Scanner Cost: about $60
Thanks from Phl and Twistedracer

Can you please post details

I would be interested but the major service would still get ducati to do as people that buy ducatis here only want it if it has service records.

Please post up a link or any details. Regardless of what others what to do, I would like to be able to clear codes and read other things like I do with my Audi using a VAG Com tool from Ross-Tech.

For the ones interested in being able to check out/delete errors, reset service lights and reset throttle and a couple other things here are the details:

This actually WORKS! I have done it on my bike (2013 1199) but you have to make sure you buy the right stuff:

You need to buy a cable that transforms the bike's 4 pin connector (under passenger seat) to 16 pin OBDII, then also an OBDII scanner (for cars).. then download and register the free software and you are set!

The ELM327 1.4 USB OBDII scanner has to have the FTDI FT232RL chip:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELM327-USB-C...gAAOSwdzVXvgoG
Price is around $20

The 4 to 16 pin you buy it from an UK website called lonelec:
http://lonelec.co.uk/index.php?route...h=4+pin+ducati
Price $20ish shipped (dont remember exactly)

And the software is MelcoDiag:
Download/registration and info can be found here (if you have questions you can register in their forum and they usually reply pretty fast):
http://jpdiag.akress.com/
(its the software at the very bottom of the screen for the bikes with Mitsubishi ECU)
Price FREE! - I use it with Windows 7 64 bit

VIDEO OF LIGHT RESET:
Thanks from Phl, Zelnik, Twistedracer and 2 others
