Anybody replaced their headlamp bulbs?

I have a standard Panigale and I am considering the Hid conversion..But I was wondering if anybody has tried the Super white style Halogens in their bike??? Gotta be a lot cheaper... Right???

Its the same bulb as the 1198, 1098, 848 and Multistrada, so I would look at those bikes and see what success they've had with different lights. I can't say much for myself, as we haven't changed any bulbs out on the base models yet (mostly the Tricolore and S versions are what we've sold...so full LED headlight).

You can't change the bulb without taking off the whole light console off the bike! Hid or halogen doesn't matter !

I've replaced mine with whatever the top Osram was (night breaker?), they are brighter but not by much.

I've had HID's on my last 2 bikes, no doubt that they are far better but what put me off is an impending crack down by VOSA during MOT's (ok a few years away!).

You can but it's fiddly! You need a friend with small hands...

It was a pain in the ass job but the end result is more then spectacular ! I tried everything but could not squeeze my hands in there! So I decided to take everything apart and do it properly!

I Ride: Sold the 848, 1199 ABS
Has anyone else tried to replace their halogen bulbs ( on the Base)? it appears that (if your hands are small) you can just reach in and change the low beams.
