Panigale Racing Throttle Spacer Kit

I ordered up the Panigale Racing Throttle Spacer Kit (Part #1199T) from Ducati Omaha.

The kit arrived today so I disassembled the DBW Throttle Assembly.

I installed everything which took care of all the slack in the linkage.

Total install time for the spacers is about 30 minutes.

Great kit highly recommended!

Thanks from Phl, JArnold, Carl1199 and 2 others

This below modification is not something I would recommend for the novice as you have spring tensioned gears that have to be aligned perfectly or you could have a run away throttle!!

I was not pleased with the performance of the throttle itself. It had a small segment of initial throttle that didn't do anything. So I disassembled the DBW throttle assembly completely. There are 2 gears that are tensioned by springs so be careful parts don't fly if you are going to try this.

The small gear has an index groove that lined up with an index groove in the housing itself. I advanced the small gear 1 tooth clockwise to see if I could get rid of the small segment of dead throttle in the assembly. Now, the throttle reacts in about .002 of an inch (about the thickness of a sheet of paper).

The gears are behind this silver plate. The large gear is part of the black tabs sticking out that the spacer kit installs on. The small gear that I indexed 1 tooth is behind the brass pin on the right side of the silver plate.

The throttle is now a hair trigger, just the way I wanted it. I ran the bike through the whole operating range and everything is perfect. I will take it out on the road tomorrow to get used to it.

Thanks from JArnold and imbloodyskintagain

I have not had a chance to take the bike out yet. It has been raining and the temps dropped. I will get a chance in the next few days to do a final report on the modifications. Thanks!

Consider getting the GP Switch. I got mine from Ducati Omaha via tip from ScrapperX, great piece of kit.

I have attached a photo for you. As mentioned, Ducati Omaha will be able to provide you with all the details. The one I have is a little pricey, however the quality is good.

Trust this helps.

I just got back from about a 40 mile ride through the canyons around my place. On both rough to smooth roads in sport and race modes the throttle is a dream.

You have to be very relaxed on the throttle to avoid transferring the roughness of the roads into the throttle. It is positive both on and off the throttle at all times.

All you have to do is think about moving the throttle and it responds. Blipping on downshifts is easy and seamless.

So this is a good idea for road applications ?
(If so...please provide a link to purchase).

Could you please explain the advantage of having this on the road over stock set up...?
