Error codes ABS, SCU, ENGINE, DES after washing the bike

Hey guys,

I need your help please

I washed my 1299 S on Friday.
Started it on Saturday morning - everything was fine. After a few kilometers motor turned offed. Displays shows 4 error codes: ABS, SCU, DES, ENGINE.

I have absolutely no idea about technical things.
I guess some water came into one central cable connector - but where?

Could someone help me?
Could you describe where I have to check the cables? (I can take some photos of the bike, perhaps you can mark it in the photo, if I can't find it).

Thank you!!

Katja

Under the seat is probably the spot. CAN LINE INTERNAL SENSOR water damage

1. remove seat (requires small allen wrench. careful not to nick tank
2. carefully clean the DDS plug (under passenger seat) and the BBS plug (under riders main seat) use only electronic cleaner. do not get this on the paint or other surfaces.*
2. apply an appropriate amount of dielectric grease to the female end of the BBS module located under the seat
3. Carefully reinstall plugs and reverse the disassemble process*

Hi,

thank you for your reply.

Found the BBS plug, but can't unplug it.
But if the problem was there, shouldn't there be CAN LINE error too?

Couldnt find another plug under passenger seat, exept one "dead end".

The dead end is the diagnostics connector.
The BBS connector has a latch you have to push down to release (top thinggy on the picture)

Most likely culprit is the BBS connector. You need to depress the plastic latch down (as in Gecko's picture) to disconnect it from the BBS unit, you might also want to spray some dialetric grease into the BBS where the plug is inserted, as well as the connector itself. The DDS plug has a small cap that you can remove, check it has no water or condensation inside and treat as per the BBS connector.
