2014 Panigale 1199S Issues

So I currently live in Tokyo, from Chicago originally. I bought a Panigale when I moved out here and it came stock with this huge side exhaust that I wanted to get rid of right off the start.

I purchased the OEM silencers that come original in the states and installed them but ever since the bike really runs like dirt. Note: I did not ride the bike with the stock Japanese exhaust so I have nothing to compare it to.

These are the issues I have been experiencing
- rough idle
- little power under 3500 RPM
- after 3500 RPM I get a strong jolt of power back on to the point were I have to prepare for it
- really rough to ride in 1/2 gear through the city.
- occasional stalling

Any insight and help would be most useful, I have not tuned the bike as of yet so I really think that could be the issue but still not sure. Also maybe because the bike is Japanese spec the US silencers effected everything.

No other MODs made except for the US OEM silencers.

Best,

Jonathan

If it was me I'd do a full service on it, you know filters, all fluids, drain the tank and new filter and if it was due a valve clearance check. Then I would install a Rapid Bike EVO to get the fuelling sorted out.

I just bought (about a month or so ago) an 1199 that had been dealer serviced from new and was very cranky and uncivilised, I did all these things with the addition of a full akrapovic exhaust and now it's a dream to ride. Well as good as it's going to get for a Ducati big L twin anyway.

I don't think so, cause I have a 1098 streetfighter too back in the states and this is much faster.

Any thoughts on what might be best? Rexxer, Tuneboy, UpMap, etc.

Phil is right (and he is well experienced) and it's what I said to you last week. It will sort out the fuelling troubles these things have from the factory. Now go back and read my thread again on the other things I mentioned, if your not going to take the advice don't ask for it.
