Engine idle problem and RPM limit

ive always wanted to join a forum and its my 1st time so here it goes :-)

Experiencing problems with 1199S Tricolore 2012
10 500 km
full termi system, racing evo up map, carbon rims and shorai battery
the bike was running fine, starting 1st time, idle was constant. but until i updated the engine ecu with new software this year March it began to act strange ( idle goes up to 4000 then back to 1550 every 1min or so) this happens sometimes ( and would cut out sometimes ) Any Ducati Technicians out there have had this problem? please help. Grazie

another problem is the RPM limit goes only to 10 000 and not to 11 500. what changes the RPM limit? ECU software? Anyone had this problem before??

I have the exact bike with the slip-on Termi and upmap. First thing I would do if it were mine is change back to the OEM battery and see what happens. I know this bike (and my Porsche) are extremely sensitive to battery condition. It is a freebie and shouldn't take long to take that off the list if it makes no difference.

the idle issue i got sorted by doing a BAS Tunning Electronic Idle Setup and AIS (Secondary Air Valve System) Setup tests on the DDS in the workshop.

thanks for the reply HARMONY JIM

yes the 1199 has some very sensitive electronic equipment on board. the slightest too high or too low voltage can result in errors. and can only be seen on the dash or on the DDS. thus the battery i think must remain standard. not sure it the shorai (light) batteries cause most of the problems. still looking into that. just keep your battery on charge maintainer if not in use.

Several of us have the Shorai. Nothing to do with the electronics once the alternator takes over, and certainly wouldn't cause it to "smell" rich. I wouldn't trust your nose on a ne bike ,take it to dealer and ask them. The benefit of a warranty. We don't have to think, just say "fix it".
