Question 1199S losing power at high RPM

Hi!

I have a 1199S 2013 with Termi slipon. Mapped by Hypertrick. Mileage around 5000 km, only on the track.

All of a sudden the engine is not producing power on high RPM. Not all the time and not at the same RPM. I've checked and cleaned the injectors, no problem there. I have replaced the fuel pump to a new one. The problem disappeared for almost one track day, then it came back again however not as significantly as before (I still managed to get a new PB).

Anyone with the same experience? I'm thinking it may be some electrical issue. Or related to the Ride By Wire since I have replaced the throttle after a crash, but that was two years ago and I haven't experienced any problems before now.

Any ideas are welcome!

Thanks!

Markus

I haven't tried to reset the TPS. Could you please explain how that may solve the problem? Thanks!

There has been a few people with TPS problems, The TPS sensor reads the position of the throttle to help determine the amount of fuel that needs to be delivered to the engine.

If the TPS says 80% throttle at 100% then you'll only get 80% of power.

But I assume that the power will be delivered in the same way all the time if the TPS has the wrong settings? In my case the power delivery in different every time I ride.

Nice name you got.. Mapped by Hypertrick you say,i think you should try switching to a oem 1199s ecu and see how the bike behaves.

I had same thing happen to me with the very first TB tune I had installed.
Very noticeable power drop up close to the redline. Change maps to a different one and no more power drop off. (this was before dyno tunning)

I have had the Hypertrick map for more than two years (put into the original ECU). Since the power drop comes and goes (and at different RPM's, but normally around 8-10k) I would be surprised if it's related to the ECU. But I have had 6 Ducatis so far, so I'm used to be surprised.

Any other ideas?

Spark plug or HT coil breaking down?
How does the power loss feel, is it just "flat/gutless" and tails off, or more like a stutter?
Thanks from Phl

It's definitely like a stutter! Any ideas?

I've checked the coils. But I will check them again, as well as the spark plugs.

Thanks!
