Shoei RF1200 Transition Sheild review

Finally received my Transition sheild from Revzilla last week and I dont quite understand why all manufactures such as AGV/ARAI/Etc dont get on board with this. Lazer and Bell was smart to do so

My review.
1) Awesome
2) Awesome
3) Awesome

Transitions really fast from light to dark. I have the Pin Lock installed. Thickness of the sheild is the same as OEM. No distortion at night, cloudy days gets a little dark completely light at night.

Comparision between Arai, AGV and Shoei

OEM left, Transition Right (Color is similar to ARAI and AGV)

do you get any turbulence inside your rf1200 from under the chin curtain?
my rf1200 is tight on me but i'm getting unbearable turbulence going above 80mph.. had absolutely no such issue in my previous rf1100

Cool

***After reading this over again, and seeing Donguason's post I figured out you were NOT talking about the Bell right here-but the Shoei instead. And here I was talking about how awesome the Bell was and everything! LMAO! ..........................DUH

Been trying to tell everyone here this for YEARS Scrapper!

That feature alone makes Bell a killer lid, along with the unreal ventilation n comfort!

I'm guessing that Bell has a serious patent on that Transition Shield hence no one else is doing the same with their helmets ya know? Putting this feature on an Arai would make the crazy tightness easier to deal with for sure!

Glad you love it Scrap and good to see something from ya man!

Where did you buy it? I cant find it instock anywhere. I wouldnt mind replacing my bell with a shoei as I can find some deep discounts on shoeis right now. Seems like the RS1 in solids never drops below $400

Hey D-

Contact Mark419NY here on the forum since he knows some other forum members that have a super start up company and offer some killer deals to forum members. Think its called Dev-6 or something, but Mark is in tight with them and has purchased a TON of stuff and made out REALLY good!

If looking for other brands Id say Moto Liberty is one hell of a great place-and if you tell the owner (Audrey) I sent you things may come out SUPER NICE!

Transitions is the way to go. I think since Shoei and Bell have to pay Transitions to use their tech and the amount that they would need to sell, other brands arnt so keen to use them. I think Transitions charges and arm and a leg for licensing their product that's why Arai and others arnt quick to adopt. I dont think the helmet brands are selling millions upon millions of lids to justify the cost to produce them. AGV has one to but theirs is battery powered.

Cant be the case considering I bought an Akuma Phantom 2 Carbon fiber helmet 5 or 6 years ago because it was absolutely the first transition visor equipped helmet on the market. The transition continues to work well till this day although the interior build quality of the helmet is starting to show signs of aging. Had the Bell been available back then, I would've bought that instead.
