I Ride: 2013 1199 Panigale S
I was in that area recently, and went driving (in a car, yes) to Monarch king road and the Huddart park area (sp?) and further north to the Muir woods area, and thought they were all pretty good.

(Nothing like Colorado Rockies though )

Welcome to the Bay Area.

Since we're in a valley were surrounded by mountains and they're all filled with good roads. Head towards Big Sur, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz or get out to Highway 1 north of SF. (Just don't do it on the weekend unless you like driving at Prius speeds.)

Highway 9 from Saratoga to Boulder Creek. You'll find me there almost every weekend.

And closer to Nepenthe than we in So Cal are....jealous!

(Mods, seems best suited in the Ride Reports or West Region forum)

Too much CHP presence on that road especially on the weekend. Was lectured by one 2 wks back in boulder creek. Apparently my bike matches the description of a complaint that was called in. I turned back around and headed home after that.

I find this kind of interesting. A Highway Patrol officer stopped you based on a complaint that someone called in? Did he say what the complaint was? Is that a SOP for those guys out there?

Just curious. Seems like it would be ripe for abuse. Don't like someone? Call the CHP and make up a complaint.

Ex-wives and Ex-gf's come to mind. Oh yeah, and that guy Bob in Accounting - don't like him much either. Let's harrass him with the CHP.

I was taking a break at the gas station in Boulder Creek. He pulled up and call me over. Then he wrote down my license plate and his last words were "slow down!".
